Back in 2015, my mother and I decided to go on a vacation to Italy on our spring break. It took months of planning but we finally made it! We landed in Venice and immediately got into a boat to get to the city. This was the moment it really set in that I was in a totally different country! I was so excited to explore every part of Italy because it was one of my dream countries to visit. This week was definitely the best week of my life. We went from Venice to Florence to Rome.
It was here in Italy that I fell in love with history and being surrounded by it. Historical sites are my favorite way ro learn about history and in Italy the whole country is a site! I didn’t know that I wanted to work in the history field but I now knew it was something I was passionate about. Not only did I gain a new love for history, but I grew closer with my mom. We bonded on this trip over our love for travel and history so much that we went back again the next year for 3 weeks! Since then, my mother and I have been planning to go on trips to fun places every so often. The budget is tight but my mother always says to “Travel while you can!”
